Four Men Convicted And Sentenced For Fatal Shooting Of 15-Year-Old Daughter Of Olympian Tyson Gay
Four men have been found guilty and sentenced for the 2016 fatal shooting of 15-year-old Trinity Gay, daughter of Olympic runner Tyson Gay.
At the time of the incident, Trinity was an innocent bystander when gunfire broke out in the parking lot of Cook Out restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky. Trinity was caught in the crossfire and was struck in the neck, reported ESPN.
Authorities are still unable to pinpoint who fired the .45 caliber bullet that killed her.
On Monday, a Kentucky jury deliberated for nearly five hours and returned with guilty verdicts for all four men on trial.
Jurors pronounced Chazerae Taylor guilty of wanton murder and four counts of wanton endangerment, recommending a 20-year sentence. His son, D'Markeo Taylor, was found guilty of wanton endangerment, and jurors recommended 15 months. D'Vonta Middlebrooks was found guilty on one count of wanton endangerment, and the jury recommended 15 years. Lamonte Williams was found guilty on five counts of wanton endangerment, and jurors recommended one year.
Gay says he's glad his daughter got some justice.
