Brittney Griner Marries Glory Johnson
After a rocky few weeks, Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson finally made it to the altar. The WNBA stars married in Phoenix on Friday, People.com confirms, in a sunset ceremony attended by 75 of their closest friends and family.
Johnson, a forward for the Tulsa Shock, wore a beautiful full-length, strapless champagne gown while Phoenix Mercury center Griner opted for a two-button khaki suit.
After saying "I Do," the newlyweds danced to Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" for their first dance.
The couple made headlines two weeks ago when a fight lead to a 911 call and both were arrested for assault. "It is never OK for an argument to turn physical," Griner said in a statement released through her attorney. "This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously."
"I am committed to making positive changes and I plan to use what I have learned to set a good example and help make a difference in the world around me," she added.
Congratulations to Brittney and Glory!
