You Won't Believe Which Trend Kylie Jenner Is Taking Credit for Now
A group of young starlets each grace their own covers of Marie Claire's third annual Fresh Faces issue — Kylie Jenner, Zendaya and Gugu Mbatha-Raw — and they have a whole lot to say about style.
As expected, the interviews weren't without their OMG moments. The one that really stands out is Jenner's assertion that — wait for it — she invented wigs.
"I started wigs, and now everyone is wearing wigs. Kim [Kardashian] just used my wig guy last night. ... I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow,” Jenner tells the magazine. The Twitter shade was fast and furious, with some people giving Kylie an apparently much-needed history lesson (wigs have been around for centuries) and others mimicking her outlandish comments with ones of their own (“kylie jenner started wigs and i started checkered vans #impact," one user wrote.)
“When publications switch up your words for hype. Damn,” the reality star wrote in her own defense, without naming Marie Claire specifically.
Meanwhile, Zendaya's comments were less, well, dense, but equally interesting. The young star talked about taking risks with her style and the recent fashion moment she is so proud of. "I wore a freaking mullet to the Grammys. I felt like I was killing it. And I was. That's all that should matter when you step out," she said.
