Jay-Z Says We Must Be Ready for New Era
Late last week Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Jay-Z's mom, Gloria Carter, and other A-List stars like the Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez and The Roots' Questlove stepped out in honor of The Shawn Carter Foundation carnival of “Making the Ordinary Extraordinary” in New York.
Speaking with Access Hollywood, the hip hop mogul explains the importance of giving anyone willing to work hard for a dream the opportunity to attain it. Although he describes himself as “lucky,” he’s aware “a lot of the blue collar jobs are gone and it’s important to be prepared for this next era and what’s to come.”
While his mom is the most active partner in this charity union, Hov explains, “For me, my joy is the giving. I don’t need them to thank me. How they thank me is to be successful in life.”
When asked if he’s started saving for his own child’s college fund, Jigga replies, “I think I’ve figured that out” and that he “almost” has it under control. Surely he's being modest.
