The Mathis Project
Having had a few run-ins with the law in his hometown of Detroit, Judge Greg Mathis knows all too well how America’s judicial system interacts with young minorities.
Mathis presided over NBC’s nationally syndicated legal reality series Judge Mathis for 10 seasons, winning over fans with his signature brand of tough love. In 2002, Mathis published the book Inner City Miracle — a memoir about his life growing up in Detroit's Herman Garden Projects and his road to becoming an attorney and the 36th District Court Judge in Michigan. In 2008 Mathis used bits of her personal story as the foundation for his second book, the fictional Street Judge, about a judge who solved murders.
Now Mathis is back on television in BET's The Mathis Project; a show which borrows from both books (particularly Street Judge) and relies on his proven skills as a people person and community leader to crack the mysteries of real-life crimes in some of America's most dangerous and violent areas.
Tune-in Friday, November 8th for an exclusive sneak peak of The Mathis Project on BET at 10P/9C.
