Lenny Kravitz Headed to Brazil to Film “The Blind Bastard Club”
Rock icon Lenny Kravitz and Rosario Dawson are going to star in the film The Blind Bastard Club, which will begin filming in April in Brazil.
Screen Daily reports that film the follows a group of blind people “who live life on the edge … going to the shooting range, jumping out of planes, getting into fights in bars, and pretending they’re not blind.” The central characters are Jake, the group’s leader, and Angel, a rollerblading call girl, who “both look to make the ultimate sacrifice for love.” No word yet on exactly which roles Kravitz and Dawson, or fellow cast members Rodrigo Santoro (300) and Riccardo Scamarcio (Romanzo Criminale), will take. Some reports are guessing that Kravitz will play Jake, and Dawson will play Angel.
Up-and-coming director Ash Baron-Cohen—cousin of Sacha Baron-Cohen—will direct the film. Shooting was supposed to take place in New Orleans, but will now be done in Brazil, where Kravitz is a megastar. Kravitz is preparing to release his first album in several years.
No word yet on when the film will hit theaters.
