The drama continues for ESPN NBA analyst and former Phoenix Sun star Jalen Rose. The “Fab Five” alum has been pulled off the air today for failing to disclose his March 11 arrest for drunk driving in Michigan until three weeks after the fact. To add insult to injury, Rose’s silence allowed a Detroit television station to scoop ESPN and break the story first.

A post on ESPN blog the Poynter Review Project yesterday stated that Rose had “compromised” the sports channel. In an email to USA Today’s Game On! blog, ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said that execs are taking the matter very seriously and that all parties "agreed that he will not be on our air while he addresses this situation."

Rose has released a statement explaining the events of March 11 and issuing an apology to ESPN, his family and fans.

"I accept full responsibility for my actions and look forward to a resolution of the legal matter as soon as possible."

Rose recently caught a lot of flak for saying that as a teenager he felt that Duke University only recruited Black players who were “Uncle Toms."
