Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Lil Wayne Cooking Up Joint Album
Mannie Fresh and Juvenile are cooking up a joint album with Lil Wayne. Fresh and Juve confirmed the project during an interview with All Hip Hop, crediting fans for inspiring the project after the Lil WeezyAna Fest reunion last summer.
"It's been a long time coming," said Fresh. “The fans demanded this, to them it’s iconic. It’s necessary that y’all come back and do this album, and even show the planet that whatever was going on with us we can get over that.”
Though not touted as an official Hot Boys album, it’s the closest thing to it since the collective (Juve, Fresh, Weezy, B.G. and Turk) dropped their last release, Let 'Em Burn , in 2003.
Like many groups, the Hot Boys have had their share of struggles. As Weezy became the breakout rapper on Cash Money, Juve and Fresh would eventually step back from the spotlight while B.G. and Turk kept on the solo grind. By 2010, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison for gun possession.
Turk and Wayne would end up separately suing Cash Money last year.
In a positive plot twist, Tunechi’s legal beef could be ending soon, and Turk settled his $1.3 Cash Money lawsuit in July 2015. It’s unclear if he’s invited to the Weezy, Fresh and Juve reunion.
