Gilbert Arenas Is Getting Dragged for Saying WNBA Players Look Like OITNB
Gilbert Arenas shot himself in the foot with this one.
The retired NBA star took to his Instagram account on Tuesday and posted an image of two scantily-clad models playing basketball, saying this is what the WNBA should look like.
"NOW this is what America was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996...not a bunch of chicks running around looking like cast members from #orangeisthenewblack," Arenas wrote, referring to the television about women in prison.
He wasn't done expressing his views about the WNBA, though.
"Dont get me wrong, they have few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around," Arenas continued. "If Skylar Diggins came out like this, I dont care if she missed every layup... imma buy season tickets and I dont even know where the f**k #tulsa is."
Good lord, Gilbert.
Seemingly knowing he's going to get backlash for these sentiments, Arenas even wrote: "If u think this is sexist, 9 times out of 10 u the ugly one and we didnt pay to come see u play anyway."
Arenas's dragging on social media was in full force Wednesday, as fans ripped him right and left for his comments.
WNBA star Swin Cash even tweeted:
