Jamie Foxx ‘Awake & Alert’ Following Early April ‘Medical Complication’
Good news has arrived for fans and friends of Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx. The veteran Hollywood star is said to be awake and alert following his recent hospitalization for what has only been described as a mysterious “medical complication.”
The latest update comes from none other than fellow comedian Nick Cannon who shared the uplifting news with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier over the weekend, telling the longtime journalist that he had been praying and posting words of affirmation for the 55-year-old who he referred to as his “big brother.”
"I know he's doing so much better because I'm actually about to do something special for him and doing him a favor," Cannon continued. While the Wild N’ Out boss wouldn’t reveal just exactly what the favor was, he did say that it would be “out there soon.”
He added, "I was reluctant to go all the way there and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it's a beautiful thing. He's awake. They say he's alert, so we love it," before cementing his relationship with Foxx, noting, “That’s family right there.”
According to an unidentified source who spoke to the publication, Foxx, who had been filming an upcoming Netflix movie, Back in Action, at the time of the health scare, is still receiving medical treatment but “is healing [and] feels the love from everyone.”
As reported by BET, Foxx had been receiving medical care at a Georgia-based facility earlier this month after failing to show up to set on April 11 due to illness, causing a halt in filming. While much is not known about what triggered the medical emergency, it’s noted that the They Cloned Tyrone star was not driven to the hospital in an ambulance.
The production has since resumed while Foxx continues to recover.
