'Madden 19' Boycott Led By Charlamagne Tha God And Van Lathan Over Colin Kaepernick Censorship

The NFL video game allegedly removed Kaep's name from Big Sean's "Big Bank" verse on the soundtrack.

Outrage over Colin Kaepernick’s name being scrubbed out of lyrics on the Madden 19 soundtrack is spreading, particularly to the realm of celebrities.

After Big Sean, whose bars on YG’s song “Big Bank” mention Kaep, came out against the EA Sports NFL video game via Twitter and condemned them for censoring his lyrics, and more important, Colin Kaepernick’s name and cause.

TMZ staffer Van Lathan was one of the first main people to come out against the game and issued a #KnowYourRightsChallenge for folks to take the $59.99 they would’ve spent on the game and donate it to Kaepernick’s Your Rights Camp Organization. Charlamagne Tha God was one of the ones challenged and now he’s accepting.

Via an Instagram video, the Breakfast Club host took on the #KnowYourRightsChallenge and challenged others he felt would also join on.

“Yo @vanlathan challenge accepted. I don’t play @eamaddennfl anyway,” he captioned under the video. “My donation to @kaepernick7’s @yourrightscamp has been made. I’m calling on @amandaseales @rapsody @angelayee @troubleman31 @killermike @9thwonder and @djenvy to do the same!! Ok I’m out and I hate how my face looks in selfie mode. #KnowYourRightsChallenge.”

Colin Kaepernick previously responded to Big Sean’s tweet about his lyrics and thanked him for his support.

It looks like Rapsody, one of the people Charlamagne challenged, has already accepted.
