Keke Wyatt Posts 'Controversial' Breastfeeding Pic, Sparking A Debate
Two months ago one of our favorite R&B Divas, Keke Wyatt, gave birth to her ninth child and gave us a snapback that we can't stop admiring. And now Keke has just broken the internet with her recent Instagram post, photographed while breastfeeding her new baby, Kendall.
Posted with the caption "Got caught in Mommy mode. Lol!!! I love my babies," social media went into a frenzy, garnishing the 35-year-old mother over 103K likes and almost 2k comments stirring up an age old debate: is it OK to breastfeed in public?
While many Instagram commenters simply placed a "Beautiful," in support of her public display of breastfeeding, others felt it important to stand up for those who've been put down for breastfeeding in public:
"Why do people feel the need to tell breastfeeding moms they don't want to see them feeding their babies? It's natural normal and serves the purpose of sustaining life. Why is it so private? Eating is a social event. Oh it's because of the partially exposed breast... Get outta here with that mess. I see more ass and tits walking down the street, scrolling on IG, Instagram and Facebook then when a woman is nursing. Huh! Society irks my good nerve. @keke_wyatt thank you for sharing and continuing to normalize breastfeeding in the black community," one commenter expressed.
On the other side of the debate, there were some not feeling the public display of feeding:
"Girl bye that is so personal. You need a therapist your voice is so beautiful though. I've never seen this kinda shit out you know that they make blankets, covers for that. Have some Self respect. Pull your tiddy out in private honey," a commenter shared.
Continuously going back and forth, commenters shared their opinions.
Our thoughts: Either way, it's the woman's decision and it should be respected.
