Beyoncé Joins Cameron, Gwyneth and Reese for Musical Film
Beyoncé is ready to become a working mom. The singer and actress is bringing her talent back to the big screen for One Hit Wonders, an upcoming project by Glee creator Ryan Murphy. The film, which also stars Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon and Bey's BFF Gwyneth Paltrow, is about four singers who are one-hit wonders joining forces for a comeback.
Speaking of musical movies, a biopic on Shirley Bassey, the singer behind popular James Bond tracks including "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Goldfinger," is in the works, according to DigitalSpy.
The site reports that the film will be titled Miss Shirley Bassey and that director Marc Evans "does not have any actress in mind for the role, and will have to find an unknown to play the part of the Welsh music icon."
Digital Spy quotes Evans as saying, "We're going to have to find her, somebody who's the same ethnicity as Shirley and can sing like Shirley so that's the big challenge."
That's not going to be easy, since Bassey is British and Nigerian. But now that Beyoncé is back to work, maybe they should consider bending that rule?
