Rihanna Supports Russian Gay Rights Campaign
Rihanna is already busy promoting her MAC Viva Glam campaign for the beauty brand's HIV/AIDS fund, but she's taking on another cause. With the Winter Olympics currently underway in Sochi, the world has turned its attention to Russia's gay rights policies. Over the weekend, Rihanna shared a photo of herself wearing a P6 hat over social media and announced her support for Principle 6, a movement against Russia's anti-gay propaganda law.
"#P6," is all she tweeted with the photo's caption along with a subsequent message linking to Frank Bruni's New York Times Op-Ed piece about P6.
According to CNN, the nation's parliament passed a law that banned the teaching of gay rights to children back in June 2013 and just recently added a decree that banned foreign same-sex couples or even singles who live in countries where same-sex marriages are legal to adopt their children.
