Chris Brown Victim of Identity Theft
Chris Brown has fallen victim to identity theft — meaning, someone actually stole his ID and then attempted to sell it on eBay for $10,000.
TMZ reports that Brown's identification card from his time in the San Bernardino County jail last year was left with prison officials when he departed the facility, but somehow wound up for sale on the Internet with a hefty price tag. Breezy's attorney Mark Geragos found out about the theft and called the San Bernardino sheriff's department and demanded an investigation.
The perpetrator was found in the area, and after being questioned by police admitted he procured it from a friend of a friend. Police are working to find out who stole the ID from jail administration and whether the theft constitutes a crime.
