Usher Shocks Fans With Surprise Performance in Las Vegas After Lover & Friends Fest Cancellation
A little wind isn't enough to hold Usher down.
The long-awaited Lovers & Friends festival was supposed to occur over the weekend in Las Vegas, but after reports of dangerous winds, the event was canceled. Still, Usher made sure his fans who remained in Sin City left saying, "OMG!"
Due to the festival's cancellation, which Usher was supposed to headline, many fans assumed he would also ditch his pre-performance leading up to the fest.
"Mannn…I’m just as disappointed as you are. We were getting ready to turn up and celebrate today. I have to follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service for everyone’s protection and stand strong in my belief that everything happens for a reason," Usher tweeted on Friday (May 3). "I’m sorry we won’t get to see each other today, but know that I am always working on something to express my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you who continue to support me."
But in good faith, Usher showed up at the club that same night and assured one way or another, the show must go on.
According to TMZ, the "Confessions" hitmaker hit the stage at Jewel Nightclub Aria Hotel and Casino on Friday night around 1:30 AM and kept the party going until approximately 4 AM. At one point, Usher and the crowd tag-teamed during a sing-a-long.
Then the night went up a notch when ATL rapper Lil Jon appeared as the duo performed their 2004 mega-hit "Lovers and Friends."
Yea man, for this reason, 2024 will continue to be the year of Usher.
