NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been on the wrong side of the law several times in his life, but a recent incident involving the former NFL linebacker's wife has him claiming that he is the victim.
Taylor filed a domestic violence complaint against his wife Lynette Taylor with Florida's Broward County Sheriff's Office saying that Lynette hit him in the back of the head during a fight, causing a slight laceration. Lynette, 42, is denying the allegations, but was arrested anyway for domestic violence and resisting arrest. TMZ reports that Lynette told authorities of Lawrence's claims, "that's a lie. My husband is a 300 pound linebacker."

She was also handed a restraining order by a judge that requires her to stay 500 feet away from her husband at all times. The judge added that Lynette, who has since been released on $2,500 bail, can only contact her husband and children through a third party.

The two have been married since 2007 and have children together, though it is unclear how many.

Lynette has been arrested for similar crimes in the past: once in 2008, and the other two in 1991 and 2001. In all instances, charges were ultimately dropped.

Taylor himself has faced justice on multiple occasions, being arrested for drug-related crimes, as well as a prostitution scandal in 2010 where he was discovered having sex with a 16-year-old girl, resulting in the NFL great having to register as a low-level sex offender. 

Interestingly, Taylor was one person who came to defend now out of a job NFL player Greg Hardy when he was suspended by the NFL on domestic abuse charges.
