Eazy-E's son, Eric Wright Jr., aka "Lil Eazy-E," honors the memory of his father every year by visiting his gravesite and taking time to reflect. This year, however, the hip hop scion was beaten to the punch by overzealous fans of his dad.
Wright Jr. tells TMZ that when he arrived to Eazy-E's grave on Monday and discovered it had been littered with beer cans and burnt out blunts.
Lil Eazy-E was at the tombstone on March 26 to mark the 17-year anniversary of his dad's passing. After discovering the detritus apparently left by revelers, he spent several minutes cleaning up before sitting down to reminisce.
The rapper and aspiring actor said he likes to visit the grave because it allows him to "release my pain and hurt ... [and] every year I take a different message that he has said and use it as an inspiration."
Eazy-E passed away in 1995 from complications of the AIDS virus. The founder of the seminal rap group N.W.A. was the most notable hip hop star to die from the disease, and his death brought great AIDS awareness to fans of the genre.
