The-Dream Arrested for Felony Assault

"IV Play" singer turns himself in over alleged attack on pregnant ex-girlfriend last year.

The-Dream turned himself in to authorities in New York Wednesday morning (May 7) for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Lydia Nam while she was pregnant with their son.

Dream, whose birth name is Terrius Nash, was booked on two felony counts of assault and strangulation, in addition to misdemeanor assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.

The 36-year-old father of five was originally wanted by the NYPD for questioning and is reportedly still in custody.

Nam claims Dream kicked, punched and choked her during an argument at the Plaza Hotel in New York last April. The incident wasn't reported until seven months later. Another domestic altercation occurred in June 2013, in Newport Beach, Calif. The local D.A. dropped the case because Nam declined to press charges.

According to TMZ, Dream denies attacking his ex, and believes the Canadian-born Nam is using the assault story as a way to extend her U.S. visa.

The "IV Play" singer has had his relationship issues play out in the public eye before. He's been married twice, first to singer Nivea, with whom he shares three children, and later to Christina Milian, with whom he sharess a daughter. Milian says their marriage ended because of his infidelity.
