Queen Latifah Will Perform at Gay Pride Concert
Queen Latifah is headlining a gay pride event. The rapper, actress, cover girl and budding movie mogul will be the main attraction at the Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival on May 19, organizers confirm. The festival and parade will draw around 75,000 attendees over two days.
Of course, the rumor mill is speculating that Latifah will make some kind of statement about her personal life at the event, but we'll have to just wait and see. Artists headlining and performing at gay pride events is nothing new. Just to name a few, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Lil' Kim and the late Whitney Houston have all performed at gay pride functions over the years.
The original Queen of Hip Hop has been busy shooting a remake of Steel Magnolias, launching her own talk show and producing a slew of film and television projects via her Flavor Unit Productions studio.
