Bobby Brown Turns Himself in for Jail Sentence
Bobby Brown will spend the next two months in lock-up.
The New Edition star turned himself in to authorities in Los Angeles today to begin serving his 55-day sentence for an October DUI arrest, TMZ reports. It was Brown's third DUI conviction. The R&B singer has also been ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol treatment program and will be on probation for four years.
Bobby isn't the only member of the Brown family to have trouble with vehicles and law enforcement. The singer's brother Tommy Brown was arrested on March 1 for driving with a suspended license. And his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was involved in a car crash last November, but police determined that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in that wreck.
UPDATE:
Well that was quick. Bobby Brown is a free man after spending just nine hours behind bars. TMZ is reporting that the singer, who was set to serve 55 days in jail for DUI charges, was released from a Los Angeles County jail late Wednesday evening. Brown checked out of the county lockup in record time due to overcrowding in the system. Though free, the "Don’t Be Cruel" singer is still on four year probation and has to complete an 18-month alcohol education program.
