Don Lemon Is Getting Major Points For Complimenting Curves When This CNN Weather Reporter Called Herself 'Chunky'
As major news channels covered the heavy winds and rain from Hurricane Irma, an unexpected moment of body positivity came from CNN's Don Lemon.
During the broadcast, Lemon spoke with CNN reporter Sara Sidner, who was on the ground while the storm made landfall. Sidner spoke of the intensity of the storm and used her body to make a point about the strong wind.
"We’re seeing the tops of trash cans flying around and this wind — I am not a small woman as you know, Don — I am a chunky girl and it is blowing me around when the gusts come really, really hard. So this is nothing to play around with. Everyone has been told that over and over again," Sidner told Lemon.
When Sidner tossed the broadcast back to Lemon, he made a surprising response to her 'chunky' comment
“Thank you Sarah Sidner, you’re a beautiful woman no matter what size you are and there is nothing wrong with having a little curve," Lemon said to camera.
Although the remark was off topic from the storm coverage, many people could not help but love it
Some people who related to Sidner's comment thanked Lemon for his celebration of all body types
