Mary J. Blige Shares That Her New Romance with Mystery Man Is Thriving: 'I Feel Good About Me’

The R&B legend candidly discussed finding forgiveness following her divorce from ex-husband Kendu Isaacs.

Mary J. Blige got a new man!

While promoting the fourth and final season of her hit series “Power Book II: Ghosts” on the Monday (Sept. 23) episode of “Sherri,” the R&B legend shared her journey of moving past her divorce and embracing new love. Blige reflected on the lessons learned through her 2018 split from ex-husband Kendu Isaacs, stating that she has discovered "forgiveness."

"What I’ve learned is that forgiveness was for me," she told host Sherri Shepherd. "So excuse me when I say this, ‘The hell with them.’" Blige elaborated, "I don’t like that ugly, bitter feeling 'cause that’s not mine. That belongs to you. You did what you did. But I have to move on and in order for me to feel good and to manifest all the good things in my life, I have to let go for me. Not for you, this is not for you. Trust me, this is not for you, this is for me."

The "Be Without You” hitmaker said she wants to "walk in that joy" and "newness." Shepherd asked her if she was dating someone new. Blige replied, "You know already, Sherri. Everybody knows. Yes.”

"I feel good about me. I look good TO ME. I feel good to ME. And so, I’m embracing me. So when you embrace you, everything is embracing you. When you want you, everything wants you. Everything good," she continued. She added that the relationship is going well "because I’m not holding anybody accountable about making me feel good for me."

During the interview, the 53-year-old announced “The For My Fans Tour” with Ne-Yo and Mario, beginning in January 2025. "If you are a Mary J. Blige fan, this is for you," she said. Her new album Gratitude will also be released on Nov. 15. "Because that's where I am," Blige said of the album title.
