Hip-Hop Remembers WorldStarHipHop Founder Lee 'Q' O'Denat
Yesterday, tragic news broke that the founder of hip-hop hub WorldStarHipHop had passed away.
As reported, Lee "Q" O'Denat suffered a heart attack while in San Diego on Monday night (Jan. 23). He was 43.
The widely successful media site, which was founded by O'Denat in 2005 and quickly became known for its viral video content, issued a statement yesterday (Jan. 24) confirming the news of Q's passing, as well as stating that the site will continue.
"Q was a brilliant businessman who championed urban culture, ultimately creating the largest hip-hop website in the world,” the statement read. "But more than that, he was a devoted father and one of the nicest, most generous persons to ever grace this planet."
As word traveled, many artists and music industry colleagues took to social media to react to the untimely passing of the beloved entrepreneur, with many, such as DJ Khaled, crediting WSHH and Q for "day one support" as they were beginning their careers.
