Manny Ramirez Not Allowed Any Contact With His Wife
Retired baseball star Manny Ramirez, 39, continues to provide headlines regarding his arrest for domestic battery.
Monday night the Boston Red Sox World Series MVP was cuffed for a domestic dispute with his wife in Weston, Florida. He was eventually jailed, his bail set at $2,500. Ramirez’s 32-year-old wife, Juliana Ramirez, told Broward County authorities that her husband hit her in the face with his hand during an argument while they were in bed. Ramirez denied striking his wife, insisting that he grabbed her shoulders during the altercation. Yesterday, a recording of the 911 call Juliana made following the incident was released.
Whether Ramirez did or didn't strike his wife, at a bond hearing on Tuesday, a Florida judge informed him that he is not allowed to have any contact with his wife until further notice.
Shortly after, the power hitter posted the $2,500 bond and exited jail to a crowd of swarming reporters. Ramirez didn’t stop to answer questions, but instead shouted — in half-English and half-Spanish — “it’s none of your business.” When some aggressive reporters shoved their mics into his car to get a statement, Ramirez grabbed two of them and threw one.
