Wendy Williams on Her 'Dirty, Filthy, Cheeky' Novel Hold Me in Contempt
Wendy Williams has already been the reigning queen of radio and television, but now the tireless host is ready to give E.L. James a run for her money on bookshelves. Williams has penned the ultimate summer beach read, a "dirty, filthy, cheeky" novel called Hold Me in Contempt, and it's on shelves just in time for summer vacation.
Already a best-selling author of non-fiction, Hold Me in Contempt follows a beautiful lawyer, Kimberly Kind, whose steamy relationship with King (described as a cross between Justin Timberlake and David Beckham) is threatened when an accident from her past comes back to haunt her.
We paid a visit to Miss Wendy to talk about her book, her writing process and how she's managed to remain the relatable girl from New Jersey despite all her success. "I think it has to do with finding success after forty," says the talk show host. As for where she comes up with the material for her fiction, she credits that with the way she grew up, "always the fat girl and the tall girl, shoved to the side. I always lived inside my own head."
