When TDE’s leading lady SZA talks about an album as highly anticipated as her debut undertaking CTRL, you listen.

What you don’t do, however, is segue into insulting personal remarks about her appearance, which is exactly what Everyday Struggle co-host and entertainment news personality DJ Akademiks did.

On the very same day that the “Advil” songtress’s appearance on the Complex  web series premiered, the 26-year-old took to a gaming live stream to share some inflammatory comments regarding SZA. The shade first reared its head when he shared with the gaming community that he didn’t “blow” for her to come on the show. When a fan questioned what there was to actually discuss with her, Akademiks nonchalantly answered that maybe her album’s delay would make for a good speaking point. The larger blow came when a fan asked about shooting his shot at the TDE singer snf then asked how tall she was because she “seems like she’s one of them Amazon b*****s.”

Deepening the blow, he said he’s always taken his pick of “redbones,” but the “dark-skinned chicks” have always been attracted to him. By way of his facial expression afterward, it must not be too favorable of an attraction for him either.  

But leave it up to TDE’s lead man Punch to knock Akademiks off of the pedestal that led him to make such insulting remarks.

“This n***a weird bruh, LOL,” Punch tweeted about the live stream. “Kind of a clown. I’m not sure yet though.”

According to his follow-up tweet, he had no knowledge of the gaming live stream’s existence before SZA sat down on the show with Akademiks. But boy, does he wish he did.

“Nah he’s a full blown clown,” he continued. “I wish I would’ve seen that link before we went up there.”

In a now-deleted tweet from SZA, she took a much more relaxed approach in a way that only the TDE songstress would.

“Shoulda said that s**t this morning,” she suggested to Akademiks. “Still don’t regret being nice to you. Peace.”
