Just last month, NBA star Jrue Holiday and his wife, soccer star Lauren Holiday were staring a scary diagnosis in the face, when a tumor was discovered within the 8-month-pregnant Holiday's brain.

Since then, a lot has changed. The Holidays have since welcomed their baby girl, and doctors have successfully removed the tumor from Lauren's brain.

The two met as student-athletes at UCLA and have been together ever since. When Lauren's diagnosis was announced Jrue took an indefinite leave from the NBA and was met strong support from his teammates.

"The most important thing for Jrue to do right now is be with his wife and family," his head coach Alvin Gentry said. "Every ne of our coaches and players understands what Lauren and Jrue are going through, and they know we're behind them 100 percent."

Lauren had retired from soccer last year, but was also met with words of love and support from players and her former teams .

After an incredibly tough year, they can now focus on raising their adorable new baby. 

As for his return to the NBA, it is likely he will still take quite a bit of time away from the court, as he is now serving as both his wife's, and their daughter's primary care taker, he told Nola.com, "My family comes before basketball."
