Toya Wright Shaken Following Arrest
Call it a matter of celebrity scared straight. Following her arrest, former reality TV star Toya Wright says she was emotionally shaken from almost 24 hours spent in jail.
Wright, who starred in the BET reality series Tiny and Toya, was arrested on late Tuesday night due to an outstanding warrant because of a failed court date. Officials say Wright was pulled over in the College Park area of Georgia. When authorities noticed there was a prior warrant out for her arrest during the stop, she was booked at a nearby police station.
Wright was released from jail early Wednesday morning after posting a $290 bond. Since being freed, the ex-wife of Lil Wayne talked to reporters about her jail experience, saying: "I wouldn't wish jail time for my worst enemy."
Not getting specific about her experience, she said inmates were treated "inhumanely." Wright says she is thinking of turning her locked-down moment into something positive like becoming an "advocate of better treatment for prisoners."
"What I witnessed was so bad," Wright said, "that I don't even want to leave the house right now."
