Yvonne Orji to Host New Reality Dating Series ‘My Mom, Your Dad’
Fans have not seen the last of Yvonne Orji yet.
The Insecure star has been tapped for another HBO gig on their streaming platform HBO Max for a new reality dating series titled My Mom, Your Dad.
According to Vibe, the show will follow a group of single parents nominated by their college-age children, competing for a second chance at finding love. All contestants will live in a house together, unaware that their adult children are just down the street living in another house, watching their moves, and will have the ability to manipulate the house’s actions.
The show is described as having “humorous cringe moments” and “heartwarming confessions,” giving the kids the opportunity to see their parents in a whole new light as they select who they’ll be matched with.
This is the latest venture for the actress and comedian who recently came off a successful run on Insecure, starring Issa Rae and Jay Ellis, which ended its series at five fabulous seasons.
According to Variety, Orji is developing the comedy series “First Gen” at Disney Plus. The half-hour show is based on her personal experiences growing up as a Nigerian immigrant in America.
The new reality dating series My Mom, Your Dad airs on HBO Max on Thursday (Jan 13.) with eight episodes. Check out the trailer below.
