Terry Crews Is Getting Applause On Twitter For Schooling Kevin Hart Over The Way He Handled Homophobic Comments Scandal

The actor had a problem with the comic's self-imparted victim status.

Kevin Hart's seemingly never-ending scandal stemming from his past anti-LGBTQ comments recently reached its dying peak after he vowed never to speak on the controversy again, following a slew of interviews.

The conversation lives on, however, as, most recently, Terry Crews was asked to share his thoughts on the comedian's stance, and he did not hold back when saying that he found him to be completely in the wrong.

During a recent appearance on Buzzfeed's AM2DM, where he shared his views on a slew of issues, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star was asked about Hart's heavily criticized lack of sensitivity towards the LGBTQ community in relation to his layered apologies over the past few weeks.

"It's wild because he feels like he's being attacked," he said. "He is right to feel the way he feels... you react the way you feel. He feels he's being attacked, but the truth is, he's not."

Crews, who worked alongside Hart in 2004's Soul Plane, then went on to impart some wisdom on him before acknowledging the public's role in magnifying the scrutiny around the comic.

"You have to acknowledge what went on and acknowledge the pain of other people," he said. "That's all anybody's asking for. That's it."

The White Chicks star even compared himself to Hart, pointing out that he sometimes becomes a bit defensive when his wife accuses him of something wrong.

"Then all of a sudden, you can get hardened," he said. "But the hard part is when you put down the defenses and you say, 'Wait a minute, I'm not listening.'"

Take a look at the clip from the Twitter morning show, below:

  • Twitter users who have shared Crews' sentiments from arguably the beginning of the controversial debacle have taken to the site to thank him for vocalizing their feelings, with some urging Hart to take heed of his advice:
