Attorney In YSL Trial Handcuffed And Arrested In Court
On Thursday morning (April 20), a defense attorney in the Young Slime Life RICO trial was arrested when attempting to enter the courtroom with a bottle of his prescription medications.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Anastasios Manettas, who represents Miles Farley, was handcuffed and brought into the back of the courtroom during a security search of the lawyer’s bag at around 10 a.m.
Sheriff Patrick Labat said during the encounter that Manettas allegedly threw his cellphone at a sheriff’s office captain when trying to get it to another attorney.

Subsequently, Manettas was charged with simple battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of pills not in their original container, and obstruction and disrupting court proceedings, authorities say, according to the AJC.
During Wednesday’s motions hearings, security was noticeably tighter with a sheriff’s office captain instructing her deputies to “search every bag and envelope” of both defense attorneys and prosecutors outside the first-floor courtroom. Several of those lawyers objected to the new security protocols, informing deputies they have never had their belongings searched in all their years of law practice.
