Peter Boulware Thinks He Can Help Heal Tension at South Carolina High School

Ex-NFL player wants to speak to both the sheriff and female student involved.

Like many people across the United States, the now-notorious incident of a sheriff assaulting a Black female student at Spring Valley High School in South Carolina touched Peter Boulware.

The incident especially hit home for the former NFL star, who is originally from Columbia, South Carolina, and an alum of Spring Valley High School. Boulware wants to help.

"I'd like to reach out to both parties, the cop and the girl to figure out why it happened," Boulware told TMZ. "Once we get an understanding of it we can solve issues like it. We just have to be patient."

Boulware added that although he respects law enforcement and the tough job they have to do, he thinks sheriff deputy Ben Fields crossed the line in trying to address the female student at the school.

"Just from what I see on the video...with the amount of information I have, there could've been a better way where less force was used," he said. "With the young lady sitting at her desk like that, I just think it could have been done in a better way then kinda throwing her across the room."
