Rapper Tim Dog Dead at 46
After a long battle with diabetes, The Source reports that Bronx rapper Tim Dog died today from a seizure related to the disease. He turned 46 last month.
Born Timothy Blair, the rapper has been a fixture on the hip hop scene for decades, releasing his first solo project, Penicillin on Wax, in 1991. That album features his best-known song, the diss record "F--k Compton," which hit hard at N.W.A. and Dr. Dre and rode—and some say caused—the wave of coastal beef that was just beginnig to sweep the industry. Tim Dog also recorded projects with The Ultramagnetic MCs and KRS-One ("I Get Wrecked"). Nas shouted him out on 2006's "Where Are They Now?"
Tim Dog was most recently in the news last year, when said he was set up for conning a woman out of more than $30,000 online, an offense to which he plead guilty. He also penned a book, not currently available for sale, titled Who Killed Hip Hop?!
