Prayers Up: Montel Williams Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Emergency
Talk show legend Montel Williams was recently rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after suffering what is described as "a medical emergency" during his personal workout.
According to TMZ, the incident occcurred in New York City at Williams' local gym. His rep, Jonathan Franks, told the site he was doing dumbbell squats when "something went wrong." Following the exercise, he reportedly didn't feel like himself and returned to his room. Once there, he realized that the situation required medical attention, so he proceeded to call for assistance.
Emergency responders reportedly arrived to Williams in less than five minutes and he was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for the injury. He is now said to be doing well and is expected to be discharged soon.
"The Williams family will be forever grateful for the quick response from NYFD and the excellent care he has received," Frank said.
While the talk show OG is expected to make a full recovery, his rep added, "We don't take any chances when it comes to somebody with Multiple Sclerosis."
While he is still in recovery mode, Williams' rep noted that he already wants to return to work, adding, "We just had to cancel a speech and he's extremelly unhappy he won't be able to give his speech tomorrow."
We wish you a speedy recovery!
