Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon Perform History of Rap Pt. 2

The pop star and night show host pay homage to rap.

It appears that Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon are some serious history buffs—hip hop history that is.

Back in September 2010, Timberlake and Fallon entertained viewers with a mix of songs that chronicled the evolution of one of America’s most influential musical genres—hip hop. Last night, on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the two teamed up and did it again; performing part two to their “History of Rap” medley.

During the first performance last fall, they included hits ranging from The Sugarhill Gang to Missy Elliot, Jay-Z to The Notorious B.I.G, and even cranked that Soulja Boy.

This time around, the two brought that same magnetic energy to the stage and put on another incredibly entertaining performance. They paid respect to some of rap's biggest artists and performed songs by some of today’s most prominent rappers. Some of the songs performed were Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie,” Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” Rick Ross’ “B.M.F” and  50 Cent’s “In Da Club.”

The light-hearted routine was a delight for the studio audience. And because their “History of Rap” performances have been received so well going viral on the Internet, it wouldn’t be surprising if they came out with a part three in the not-so-distant future.
