Salt-N-Pepa to Rock Highline Ballroom in New York City
If you loved seeing Salt-N-Pepa featured on last night's BET special The Message, you can get more of the trailblazers in a rare, live performance. Cheryl James ("Salt") and Sandra Denton ("Pepa") will be performing at the Highline Ballroom in New York City for a one-night-only show.
The Grammy winners are best known for classic hits like 1987's "Push It," 1991's "Let's Talk About Sex," 1994's "Whatta Man" and many more. But the hip hop divas also tore down the barriers for women in the male-dominated genre. They were the first female rappers to have a multi-platinum selling album, the first female rappers to win a Grammy and they ushered in a conversation of sexuality and feminism like no one before them. Salt-N-Pepa are living legends, paving the way for everyone from Lil Kim to Nicki Minaj.
On Friday, June 6 the original divas of hip hop will grace the stage at the Highline Ballroom for a sure-to-be powerful, exciting and legendary performance in their hometown of New York City — an added plus, Spinderella will be in the building. Click here for details!
