Watch: J.R. Smith's Adorable Daughter Explains Why She's Proud of Her Dad
J.R. Smith has made it all the way to a Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
But his adorable daughter, Demi, is just happy that her dad didn't do anything to get "kicked off the team."
After LeBron James's 41-point effort paved the way for the Cleveland Cavaliers to defeat the Golden State Warriors, 115-101, in Game 6 last night, ESPN briefly interviewed lil' Demi, who was proud of her dad — and relieved — that he didn't dip into his checkered past and do anything to get booted from the squad.
HA! Real tears over here. This is too funny.
That's Jamie Foxx who was standing over Demi, so perhaps he fed her the line. Either that or this lil' sweetheart really, really knows her dad.
Foxx and J.R., with their daughters, even posed for this photo after the game.
But whatever the back story, J.R. damn-near fell over with laughter hearing his daughter's reaction on ESPN's SportsCenter afterwards.
All the Cavs shooting guard could do was laugh and "Kanye" shrug, offering, "That's my daughter."
Consider it an early Father's Day present, J.R.
In return, J.R. could get himself a Father's Day gift by helping the Cavs score a road victory over the Warriors in Game 7 in Oakland on Sunday night. A title win on Father's Day would be nice, wouldn't it?
We'll see the realness that Demi has to say about her dad then.
