A California court of appeal has ruled to reject Conrad Murray's claim that Michael Jackson caused his own death, reports TMZ.

Murray served two years of a four-year sentence after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for MJ's fatal overdose in June 2009. He was released in October — partly due to overcrowding, partly due to good behavior — and immediately set in motion the appeal, saying that he had stepped out of the room where he was administering MJ's medication, and that the pop star must've snuck in an extra injection of propofol when he wasn't looking.

The judges unanimously decided that was a lie ... or at least, if it's true, he shouldn't have taken his eyes off MJ.

Murray was "callous" in his "disregard for Mr Jackson's health and safety," the 68-page ruling reads, and he should've known he was wrong for administering "a number of dangerous drugs to Mr. Jackson without the appropriate medical equipment, precautions or personnel in place." On top of all of that, the judges added, "he left Mr. Jackson unattended."

One of Murray's lawyers, attorney Valerie Wess, said that she's reviewing the judgement for any grounds to appeal again.

Meanwhile, the Jackson estate picked up another win recently. Insurance company Lloyd's of London, which was covering Jackson's This Is It tour in case of such things as cancellation due to the star's passing, filed a lawsuit claiming that they didn't have to payout the $17.5 million owed because MJs drug use was never disclosed to them. They decided to drop the suit on their own.
