Poor Thing: Rebel Wilson Wants You To Know She’s Sorry For Arrogant Comments, Unblocks Black People She Silenced
Rebel Wilson is going on an apology tour after she recently became the target of social media scrutiny.
The Australian comedian took to social media clarifying comments she made about becoming the first plus-sized woman to land a leading role in a romantic comedy.
After social media lit Wilson's mentions on fire for ignoring the likes of Mo'Nique and Queen Latifah, who proudly starred in romantic comedies, Wilson tried to own up to her wrongdoings.
"In a couple of well-intentioned moments, hoping to lift my fellow plus sized women up, I neglected to show the proper respect to those who climbed this mountain before me like Mo’Nique, Queen Latifah, Melissa McCarthy, Ricki Lake and likely many others," she wrote on Twitter.
Wilson's apology tour didn't end there. She followed up by unblocking all of the Black commenters who called her out for misspeaking on Twitter.
The comedian, who's set to star in Isn’t It Romantic, got a classy clapback courtesy of Academy Award winning comedian, Mo'Nique.
