Despite trials and tribulations, Meek Mill's sophomore album will be his triumph.
The Philly MC is on the cover of The FADER's summer issue and throughout the article fans get a glimpse into aspects of Meek's life that they've never seen before.
For starters, although the blogs started saying that the rapper and his queen, Nicki Minaj, were engaged after she flashed a huge, beautiful diamond ring that everyone assumed came from Meek, he assured The FADER that they're taking their love one step at a time.
"It’s definitely real, but it ain’t really time to get married yet," Meek told The FADER. "We’re still learning each other, feeling each other out."
He also took the time to discuss how the criminal justice system affected him as a younger man in Philly and even as one of rap's biggest stars, saying, "My dad got killed in South Philly, ain’t nobody save him. The cops didn’t save him, and I don’t even think about the cops saving me, so I just took action to protect myself," he said of his weapons possession charges.
