'The Oval' Mid-Season Theories: Who’s Surviving, Who’s Scheming, and Who’s Done for Good
"The Oval" Season 6 mid-season finale left viewers wanting more— as usual. Now that we have a brief break from the drama before the second half of the season returns (hopefully by late spring or early summer), we’re left to our own devices once again. And you know what that means—it’s time to speculate about what’s next. Ideally, everyone should reap what they’ve sown, but with The Oval, you just never know.
Let’s break down some potential theories and questions about these wild characters’ fates.
It’s Either Nancy or Richard
At this point, it feels like only one of them can make it out alive. Nancy’s confessions about her past sins sent her and Richard down a dark path, and there’s no coming back from it. Richard outright declared that the only way to deal with her was to kill her, but when she tried to get him arrested for his father’s murder, Sam stepped in and set her up to look like the real perpetrator. Now, she’s headed to jail, and if the charges stick, that’s where she’ll stay—which, ironically, might be what saves her life.
However, if Nancy gets out, she may very well try to kill Richard. Whether or not she’s released before the second half of the season ends, one thing is certain: in the end, only one of them is likely to be left standing.
Sam and Priscilla Come Face to Face
Sam and Priscilla have been avoiding each other, caught up in the never-ending chaos of the White House. But sooner or later, they’re going to have to confront the demons in their relationship.
It would be in Sam’s best interest to apologize, but at this point, their relationship may be too far gone for that to matter. Instead, they could find themselves in a situation similar to Richard and Nancy—where it’s one or the other. Especially if Priscilla gets pulled into Nancy’s mess (which, let’s be real, she probably will).
Eli and Simone Face Off
Eli’s blatant disrespect toward Simone is what led her to cheat with Bobby in the first place. He’s not dumb—he probably suspects what’s going on. Both of them keep up the lie that they’ve never cheated, but the truth will come out sooner or later.
They need to quit playing games and admit their affairs, because at this point, who are they really fooling?
Donald Overtakes Hunter and Eli
Donald has been playing both sides for a while now, and let’s be honest—it’s because he’s addicted to power. But unlike others, he doesn’t seem to want the presidency for himself. Instead, he enjoys manipulating the people who are in power.
Right now, he’s balancing both sides purely for self-preservation, with plans to outlast everyone. The real question is: will he succeed?
Victoria Calls Her Dad
We haven’t seen him yet, and Victoria has been stubborn about asking for his help. But let’s be real—she’s floundering. She doesn’t like to show it, but she is.
If her father is as ruthless as people say, now might be the time for her to swallow her pride and call him in.
Sharon and Dale Need to Leave Town
Sharon and Dale have seen too much and know too much—from White House secrets to staff drama. They need to leave. Will they? Probably not.
At this point, one or both of them are bound to find themselves in yet another life-or-death situation.
Other Loose Ends
There are still a few lingering storylines that might not get wrapped up just yet.
For starters, where is Gail? Are they pulling a Judy from Family Matters and hoping we’ll forget about her?
And what about Kareem and his cousin? The last time we saw them, they were locked up in a White House bunker cell. As far as we know, they haven’t been killed—but their storyline feels unfinished. Surely, we’ll hear something about them before the season is over… right?
