This week in good Black news, generosity is at the forefront. Nick Cannon and the "Wild 'n Out" crew donated $25,000 to the family of late rapper Rich Homie Quan during a live show in Atlanta. Meanwhile, DaBaby launched DaBaby Cares, a mental health initiative inspired by his late brother, aiming to support Black youth and males. Latto also stepped in to uplift TikToker Yadira Ramirez, who was fired after participating in her viral "Brokey" challenge.

  • Eboni K. Williams Welcomes First Child

    “Real Housewives of New York City” album Eboni K. Williams recently welcomed her first child, calling it a "miracle" after her challenging IVF journey. 

    She shared her joy in a heartwarming Instagram post on Monday (23), expressing gratitude for her daughter, Liberty Alexandria Williams’ arrival after years of trying to conceive. 

    Williams also discussed the emotional and physical hurdles of IVF, encouraging others on similar journeys to remain hopeful.

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo ties the knot with longtime girlfriend

    NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo has officially married his longtime partner, Mariah Riddlesprigger. The Milwaukee Bucks forward shared the exciting news during an interview with PEOPLE at a launch event in collaboration with Degree on Monday, Sept. 23. Antetokounmpo revealed that the couple exchanged vows in Greece, with close family and friends by their side.

    Though the two-time NBA MVP and Riddlesprigger have been together for several years, they've maintained a relatively private relationship. The couple shares three children: sons Liam Charles and Maverick Shai and daughter Eva Brooke.

    Nick Cannon recently donated $25,000 to the family of rapper Rich Homie Quan during a "Wild 'n Out" live show in Atlanta. Quan, who passed away on September 5, was honored with a medley of his hits. 

    Cannon paused the show to bring Quan's family on stage and gave them the check, with $10,000 contributed by fans, $10,000 from Cannon himself, and $5,000 from the State Farm Arena.

  • DaBaby launches mental health resources program

    DaBaby recently introduced his new mental health initiative, DaBaby Cares, inspired by his late brother, Glenn Johnson, who tragically unalived himself in 2020.

    In a social media post, DaBaby opened up about the impact of his brother’s death. He also emphasized how childhood trauma often goes unchecked and expressed his desire to help those struggling with mental health, notably “Black males and the youth.”

    The DaBaby Cares website offers a Mental Health 101 Toolkit with resources on the effects of social media, steps to address mental health struggles and contacts for various organizations. The initiative also partnered with NAMI of Charlotte and Mental Health America of Central Carolinas for further support.

  • Latto surprises recently fired fan

    Earlier this month, Latto launched the "Brokey" challenge, encouraging fans to dance to her song "Sugar Honey Iced Tea" at their workplaces. TikToker Yadira Ramirez joined in, filming herself and Waffle House coworkers participating in a video that quickly went viral.

    However, two days later, Yadira posted another video revealing she had been fired from her job of six years. She noted that, despite two managers being present during the filming, she was the only one terminated.

    After hearing about Yadira's situation, Latto reached out, meeting her in the studio. They danced together in solidarity, and Latto surprised Yadira with a cash gift to lift her spirits.
