Casting News: New Projects for Nia Long, Hunger Games ' Dayo Okeniyi
Nia Long is joining the inner circle of Bridesmaids helmer Paul Feig. The director has tapped the Best Man Holiday star for the cast of Spy, his new comedy starring muse Melissa McCarthy. The film centers on a CIA operative who heads into the field to find the person responsible for the death of her lover, played by Jude Law.
The film should be a great chance for Long to flex her comedy chops, which helped Best Man Holiday become a box office smash. Rose Byrne, Jason Statham and Bobby Cannavale will also star.
On the other end of the genre spectrum, Dayo Okeniyi has landed a crucial role in the new Terminator trilogy. His character is described as a Steve Jobs-like tech genius. Okeniyi, best known for his role as Thresh in The Hunger Games, reportedly beat out John Boyega for the part. The two have also both been in talks for JJ Abrams' Star Wars reboot, so its possible audiences will see the Attack the Block star in that.
