Twitter Reacts To News That Kim Kardashian Actually Got Trump To Pardon Alice Marie Johnson
Kim Kardashian-West's mission to free imprisoned grandmoter Alice Marie Johnson has been accomplished as President Trump has officially granted her pardon.
According to TMZ, Trump signed off on the decision on Wednesday, and Johnson is said to be released from the Aliceville Correctional Facility in Alabama soon. The site reports that, once released, she will be heading straight home to be with her family.
Trump's clemency comes on the heels of his recent White House meeting with the reality star where they discussed prison reform and Johnson's case.
Kardashian-West and her attorney, Shawn Holley, were working closely with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner over the past few months on Johnson's case which became national news, last year, after the TV personality tweeted about it.
For a refresher, Johnson was sentenced to life in prison without parole back in 1997 on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges, which were her first and only offenses.
Kardashian-West recently took to Twitter to share her excitement of the news and to thank Trump and those who helped facilitate the decision.
The uplifting news was met with congratulations and positive words from those on social media. However, many questioned Trump's real influence and agenda as it took a reality starlet to convince him that this was a long overdue result.
