African-Americans for Obama Push for President's Re-election

African-Americans for Obama push for the president's re-election. The group looks to expand its reach at HBCUs and in battleground states as election draws closer.

African-Americans for Obama, President Obama's campaign leg that targets African-American voters and the key issues that affect them, is pushing hard toward the Nov. 6 election. During their campaign briefing in Washington, D.C., last week, the organization covered key upcoming dates such as early voting and the presidential debates, its online organizing network Dashboard and efforts to bring in HBCU student volunteers.

African-Americans for Obama called for volunteer organizers for Vote Corps to help out in swing states, and it also hopes to expand its HBCU network. They hope to round up alumni from schools located in battleground states to promote the vote during October homecoming events since current and former students and their families will be visiting their school campuses.

For serious campaign volunteers, the group offers Dashboard, an online tool that helps organize a team, reach out to local voters, stay on top of important events and get access to resources that'll push the campaign's goals.
