Drake Mocks Macklemore During ESPYs Performance

All those memes have been mere training camp for Drake, who hosted ESPN's ESPY Awards Wednesday (July 16) with a deft sense of humor and a clear jab at fellow Grammy-winner Macklemore.
The YMCMB rapper pulled out all of his acting chops and sports obsessions to deliver a crowd-pleasing evening as MC, but the highlights were the debut of two new songs, "Honorable Mention" and "Side Pieces," featuring Brian McKnight.
"KD I know you're here, I know you understand me," Drizzy crooned over the first track. "Real talent doesn't always win championships/ Like real music doesn't always win Grammys," he continued, as a photo of Macklemore flashed on the big screen behind him.
"But we're OK/ Honorable mention works for me and you/ Honorable mention, hey, hey," he sang. LeBron James, Danica Patrick and other athletes in the audience got shout outs during the rest of the song.
Then, the "Trophies" rapper brought out "the real king of the ESPYs," Brian McKnight, for a follow-up performance.
"This next song literally has nothing to do with you at all," Drizzy prepped the crowd before annihilation. "This is a song about the real glue that holds the sports world together. It's a song that I call Side Pieces.... Side Pieces," he sang, "I know you're watching this from home...."
No one was safe, not even himself. "Skylar, this is the one thing that I'd be for you," he admitted to his Instagram crush.
McKnight, also dressed in all-cream everything, joined him to close out the song with vocal runs that Lolo Jones couldn't hurdle. (She got a shout out from Drake as well, on "Honorable Mention.")
Among those he didn't call out lyrically, Young Money label head Lil Wayne and singer Christina Milian, who were in attendance. And Drizzy's former foe-turned-friendly competitor Chris Brown was there for an extension of a skit they pre-recorded together with the Clippers' Blake Griffin.
The EPSYs aired live from Los Angeles.
