President Obama and his family are scheduled to travel to Africa at the end of June, with stops in South Africa, Senegal and Tanzania. And, according to a report from the Washington Post, the cost could add up to $60-100 million.

Expenses include military planes airlifting in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks’ worth of bullet-proof glass to cover the windows of the president’s hotels.
Under different circumstances, the amount might not be a big deal. Former President Bill Clinton's 1998 trip to six African nations cost the federal government approximately $42 million.

But Obama's trip comes at a time when the government is grappling with the effects of sequestration, the mandatory, across-the-board budget cuts being made in just about every federal agency.
