DoSomething.org will be hosting a kick-off event for their national Give a Spit About Cancer campaign in Atlanta on Thursday Sept. 19 to encourage college students to register as bone marrow donors. 
The campaign launch event will be held with Be the Match and Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell at Central Park in Atlantic Station from 6-8 p.m. Students in the Atlanta area are encouraged to come out for cheek swabs to register. 
Give a Spit About Cancer is a national campaign that seeks to mobilize more than 50,000 to run or attend bone marrow registration drives on their campuses. Young people will be signing up for the national bone marrow registry to save the life of another young person.

Eighteen to 24-year-olds are the most in-demand donors on the registry, specifically of multi-cultural backgrounds, according to DoSomething.org.
