50 Cent Says He Saved Jeremih's Career

Rapper talks about the collaboration that prevented R&B singer from losing record deal.

50 Cent has never been one to hold his tongue. This time, he's spilling the beans on R&B singer Jeremih, who Fif says was about to be dropped from the Def Jam roster until he lent his vocals to Jeremih's hit single "Down On Me."

"They was counting Jeremih out completely," the controversial rapper told Angie Martinez in an interview on NYC's Hot 97 radio station (April 4). "He was definitely gonna be in a position where he was getting dropped, because the first week's sales was really low on the record.

50 said that his decision to jump on the record was an artistic one. "I thought he was a dope artist, so I said I'ma do it."

"I had a good time with this one right here," said 50, before going on to hint that his contribution to the song helped get it to the number one slot. The song has spent weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
